Healthcare Megatrends – Paul H. Keckley, PhD
Paul H. Keckley, PhD, the managing editor of The Keckley Report, healthcare researcher and widely known industry expert will examine megatrends impacting the US health care industry and how they will affect Alaska. He will share his views on the major changes and tipping points in health care such as clinical innovations that disrupt traditional modes of care and the convergence of financial and clinical data.
The Cyber Threat Landscape – John Riggi
John Riggi, Managing Director in BDO Consulting’s Technology Advisory Services will provide an overview of current cyber threats facing hospitals including a description of the threat actors, their motivations, and the techniques they use to penetrate hospital networks to steal valuable data or insert ransomware. He will discuss what hospitals can do to assess their cybersecurity risks and how to employ practical and effective risk mitigation strategies.
Update from our Nation’s Capitol – Clifton Porter II
Clif Porter, chief lobbyist for the American Health Care Association (AHCA) will share the current status of congressional health care legislation. His focus will be on the impacts to Post Acute Care and Assisted Living of the legislation before congress. He will also provide insight into the work AHCA is doing with CMS and the current administration with regard to on-going statutory and regulatory affairs.
Preventing Workplace Violence: Caring for Our Caregivers – Josh Stivers, MHA
Josh Stivers, MHA, Swedish Seattle Security Manager for First Hill and Cherry Hill campuses will share effective strategies which support a successful violence prevention program, including essential executive leadership, partnerships with quality and risk, event investigation techniques, data review and program evaluation. He will head discussion on effective “search” policies and active shooter principles.
