DetailsDr. Holly Kirkland-Khyn, pressure injury prevention expert, UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA., has partnered with ASHNHA to support, guide and partner with you on reducing pressure injury prevention by implementing evidence-based practice on:

  • - Increasing our knowledge of Pre-Hospital/transfer risk factors
  • - Early identification: Present on Admission (POA)
  • - Readmission-focused: Multi-Visit Patient Population
  • - Pressure Injury Identification
  • - Staging Wounds
  • - Pressure Mapping
  • - Next Steps-Continuous Improvement
ASHNHA encourages large hospitals to send a team of 3-5 people and smaller rural hospitals send 1-2 people. There is no limit to the number of staff that attend from each facility and no cost for registration.

Target Audience: Quality staff, nursing staff, physicians

Schedule: Half-day training, October 31, 8 am to 1:30 pm

Travel Support: Travel support is available for 1-2 people from each hospital traveling to Anchorage. Please note this when registering and ASHNHA will send you an MOA. For questions email Lexie.

Contact Nursing Hours: A total of 4.25 nursing contact hours are available and will be awarded commensurate with participation in the training.
